Building Inclusive Economies:
Creation of a new state council focused on creating jobs and the awarding of $182 million in grants to jumpstart the Governor’s Regional Investment Initiative to accelerate economic and workforce projects throughout the state.
New Growth Innovation Network (NGIN) is a national nonprofit focused on advancing inclusive economic development to ensure that economically disenfranchised individuals and communities can lead, shape and benefit from regional economic growth and prosperity.
Inclusive economic models are needed now more than ever. Existing economic inequalities were exacerbated by the pandemic, awakening a national urgency to deliver economic justice in America. This is a resource guide for those looking to build an inclusive economy in their communities.
Catalytic Capital for BIPOC Wealth Creation
NGIN is pleased to share insights on inclusive capital, with findings that (1) racialized definitions of risk continue to hold back capital (2) the 2020 corporate financial commitments can be viewed as market corrections rather than catalytic capital investments (3) there is evidence of catalytic capital investments which advance BIPOC wealth and can be scaled.
Support for this work was provided by the Catalytic Capital Consortium, an initiative by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation and the Omidyar Network.
